What is Waqf?

Waqf is a form of charitable endowment in which moveable property or assets (such as cash, vehicles) or immoveable property or assets (such as land, buildings) are donated for the use and benefit of the public.

As waqf is intended to be perpetual, the assets are held in trust and income generated from the waqf assets will be used for general or specific charitable purposes or social impact initiatives.
