Stockbroking Firms: Beneficiaries of Higher Trading Activities

Since the start of the year, Bursa Malaysia has witnessed higher trading activities that was driven by larger trade participation among investors amid an exuberant market.


The average daily value and volume traded on the local bourse in the first six months of 2024 was RM3.27 bil and 4.57bil units respectively, excluding Direct Business Transactions. This represents a significant growth of 58.7% and 40.2% from 2023’s average daily value and volume traded of RM2.06 bil and 3.26 bil units respectively. Notably, the average total daily value traded in the month of June surpassed the RM4 bil mark, a level last observed in April 2021.
