ETF Performance Report February 2025

Global equities edged lower during the month as the MSCI World Index closed 0.8% lower month-on-month (MoM) at 3,805.33pts amid worries over the potential impact of trade tariffs on the global economy and uncertainties on the U.S Fed rate decisions. 

During the month, the U.S Federal Reserve emphasised that it has no intention towards adjusting its monetary policy anytime soon while minutes from its recent FOMC meeting had confirmed the central bank would adopt a “wait and see” approach. Furthermore, the U.S reaffirmed that it would impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico imports alongside an additional 10% tariffs on China’s imports on 4 March 2025, which stoked fears of a renewed trade war.
