SAN SALVADOR, Nov 27 (Reuters) - El Salvador's president on Wednesday called the country's total ban on metals mining absurd, and said that the mineral wealth lying underground could be tapped to boost economic development. "Taking advantage of this wealth could transform El Salvador," President Nayib Bukele wrote on X, adding it could create thousands of jobs, pay for nationwide infrastructure projects and boost local economies.
