The gain on Monday confirmed a wave C which is expected to travel into a range of $2,718 to $2,788. The shallow correction triggered by the resistance at $2,675 has been almost reversed. The reversal suggests a strong bullish sentiment, which supports a further gain. A fall below $2,656 may signal the completion of the first part of the wave c. A further drop towards $2,632 will be likely. On the daily chart, the metal is about to get out of the neutral range of $2,603 to $2,676. Even though the chance of a rise to $2,721 is high, gold would need to break this level to confirm a continuation of the uptrend. * Wang Tao is a Reuters market analyst for commodities and energy technicals.
