VEGOILS-Malaysian palm oil falls, tracking rivals

(Update prices, add analyst comments) JAKARTA, March 25 (Reuters) - Malaysian palm oil futures declined for a third session on Tuesday, tracking rival vegetable oils in the Dalian and Chicago markets down, while investors await export data. The benchmark palm oil contract FCPOc3 for June delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange lost 29 ringgit, or 0.67%, to 4,276 ringgit ($963.71) a metric ton by the midday break. "The sentiments are bearish in palm oil right now as it has been forced to narrow down its premium over competing soy oil amidst the persistent absence of destination buying," said Anilkumar Bagani, commodity research head at Mumbai-based vegetable oils brokerage Sunvin Group. Malaysia's palm oil exports for the March 1-25 period are estimated to drop by 8.47% month-on-month, according to inspection company Amspec Agri Malaysia. The most-active soyoil contract in the Dalian Commodity Exchange DBYcv1 was down 0.76%, while its palm oil contract DCPcv1 fell 1.64%. Soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) BOc2 dropped 0.54%. Palm oil tracks price movements of rival edible oils as it competes for a share of the global vegetable oils market.
