FTAP Equips 30 Apprentices with Skills to Excel in Derivatives Trading
The Futures Trading Apprenticeship Programme (FTAP), organised by Bursa Malaysia Derivatives and supported by the Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF), has wrapped up its second intake, having successfully prepped 30 aspiring traders for the world of derivatives trading.
Guided by industry veterans, this intensive two-week journey offers apprentices a foundational understanding of futures trading. This programme distinguishes itself with a unique feature - participants receive direct mentorship from experienced proprietary traders, offering them an invaluable glimpse into the practical aspects along with strategic insights of professional trading at the state-of-the-art Bursa Trading Arcade.
The first and second intakes have garnered a combined 1,264 applicants. Following the remarkable achievements of the inaugural session in November 2023, 36% of the apprentices have converted to full time trading roles with a proprietary firm as of April 2024, actively contributing to market liquidity.
Additionally, the Exchange is also collaborating with Trading Participants to offer customised training and services to help FTAP applicants who were not selected for the programme, but have shown a strong interest in derivatives trading, to get started on their trading journey.
Ready to turn your passion for the capital markets into a thriving career? Look out for the application opening for our upcoming intake in October 2024. Don’t miss out this chance to master the foundational skills needed to succeed as full-time derivatives traders!
