TRADING HIGHLIGHT
  • November’s ETF total volume / value traded jumped 845.1% / 386.0% MoM to 26.4 mil units / RM33.4 mil, bolstered by direct business transaction (DBT) of ABFMY1 amounting to 25.0 mil units / RM30.0 mil. Excluding DBT, market transacted volume / value contracted by -48.4% / -50.0% month-on-month (MoM) to 1.44 units / RM3.4 mil. This brought the year-to-date (YTD) total volume / value traded to 110.8 units / RM158.0 mil.
  • Within the equity space (excluding L&I), two Malaysia-themed ETFs led in MoM trading improvement. MYETFID’s total volume / value traded grew by 314.9% / 308.2% to 39K units / RM46.2K. This was followed by MY-MOMETF which saw its total volume / value traded expanded by 134.8% / 139.1% to 15.5K units / RM15.2K in November.
  • US-themed METFUS50’s total volume / value traded grew by 168.6% / 174.3% to 70.1K units / RM704.2K, making it one of the three equity funds with monthly trading improvement.
  • In November, LBMA gold price breached USD2K per troy ounce and recorded a further 2.0% increase from last month. However, trading of GOLDETF cooled by -72.9% / -72.1% in total volume / value traded to 308.9 units / RM901.0K.
