SBTi Unveils Decarbonisation Framework for Buildings.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has launched a new decarbonisation framework for the buildings sector, aiming to align with 1.5°C climate targets. The framework sets specific criteria for companies and financial institutions, including halting new fossil fuel installations and cutting in-use and embodied emissions by 2030. The framework also emphasises retrofitting inefficient buildings. This initiative is crucial as the buildings sector accounts for over a big contribution of global energy-related emissions.
