Sell in May and Go Away? Not This Year

The local stock market posted a strong performance in May this year as Bursa Malaysia marked several new achievements during the month.

On 7th May, the total market capitalisation of all public listed companies (PLCs) breached RM2 trillion for the first time in history as Malaysian equities extended their rally since early of the year. The local stock market was firing on all cylinders with positive market breadth as all sectors posted positive year to date (YTD) gains, led by Utilities, Construction and Property.
