ETF Performance Report - October 2023

  • October’s ETF total volume/value traded rebounded to 2.80 mil units/ RM6.89 mil from its YTD low in Sept, bringing the YTD total volume/ value traded to 84.35 mil units/ RM124.65 mil. There was no direct business transaction recorded during the month.
     
  • With a sharp 7.9% MoM increase in gold price amid the outbreak of geopolitical tension in the Middle East, GOLDETF was significantly traded, making it the main contributor to the higher trading performance in October. Total volume/ value traded of the commodity ETF grew by 276% and 275% respectively to 1.14 mil units/ RM3.23 mil.
  • Within the equity space, CHINAETF-MYR’s total volume/ value traded jumped 147% and 143% respectively to 2.30 mil units/ RM11.66 mil in October, making it the second largest growth contributor to October’s trading performance. This was followed by Malaysia-themed FBMKLCI-EA after both its total volume/ value swell by 81% respectively to 475K and RM722K.
