Carbon registry Verra rejects China rice projects.

Verra, a leading carbon standards registry, has rejected 37 low-emission rice cultivation projects in China after a quality control review revealed significant issues. The projects, which aimed to reduce methane emissions through alternative irrigation methods, were found to have overstated their emissions reduction potential. The rejected projects had used a methodology that was permanently inactivated by Verra.
